Content Collector - 14a - Adding NgAnnotate And Publish To Azure

Today we take a quick side trip to add ngAnnotate into our build pipeline to prevent errors during minification, and the publish the Angular app up into our Azure Mobile App

In this episode we will optimize our gulp build process for both development and for production. We will write the logic for utilizing the Angular UI team's google map plugin, debug some code, get our information displaying in an Angular single page application, with data being pulled from the Azure Mobile App service, through an angular data service

We switch gears here a bit, moving over to a Linux environment and using WebStorm to lay out a simple single page application using Angular, we will also set up a build process with Gulp, and will be moving towards using the AngularUi Google Maps bower package to display data from our Azure Mobile App Table Controller.

A quick revisit of our Xamarin Forms Map details page, to add a marker for the location.

I had a question about rendering a custom map marker onto the map inside of our Xamarin.Forms mobile application. I realized that I had omitted adding any marker, so I will quickly demonstrate how to add the map pin for a location to the map. The rendering of a custom map marker using an icon or image, can be accomplished, but it does require going into each of the client projects and creating a custom renderer for the native platform, which is a bit advanced at this point in the series, although after I get through the basic functionality, I will revisit this topic.

In this session we install a few plugins for our Xamarin.Forms app, and build out a cross platform service to let us grab the devices current location, and to reverse geocode that location to an address string. Sadly we run into a conflict with the UWP project and the Xamarin.Forms.Map component towards the end.
